This may be my favorite in the series so far. If you could see me after reading this, I swear there were hearts in my eyes. I loved this book so dang much. Cope, Sutton, and Luca are too perfect. Broken Harbor is an engrossing and beautifully told small town, close proximity, single mom/hockey player hero romantic suspense that not only pulled on my heartstrings but also gave me that giddy squeal-y feeling. Catherine Cowles does a wonderful job pulling the reader in with the phenomenal character chemistry, the found family dynamics, and the well written mystery.
After reading the previous books in the Sparrow Falls series, I was very curious about the town’s baker, Sutton, and her adorable, hockey obsessed son, Luca. I adored Sutton. She showed so much strength and courage as she escaped her dangerous ex; settling in Sparrow Falls in her search for a safety and peace. I could not get enough of the relationship between her and Copeland. When her slime ball landlord forces her to move from her apartment, Cope steps in and lets them stay with him. They form the cutest little unit. *swoon* Copeland Colson really was a total dreamboat. He’s so sweet and kind to Luca. And, so attentive, protective and passionate about Sutton. Like with Sutton, my curiosity over his story was at a high. We learned in previous books about his family’s tragic loss. I liked that we saw him work through his pain and guilt, helping him heal.
The suspense element is *chef’s kiss* so good. I will say this time around I wasn’t surprised who the villain was. I was however blown away by the why and how. Major kudos to Catherine for that.

This book was pretty much perfect. The swoons, the suspense, and the wild and hilarious grandma. I never want to leave Sparrow Falls. I can’t wait to read the next book. I’m already in love with the characters.

The narration: Connor Crais and Erin Mallon deserve a standing ovation for the narration. They really brought these characters to life.

If I could write a recipe for the perfect Catherine Cowles reading experience it would be Broken Harbor!

I swooned so hard, I laughed, I cried, I was fanning myself and blushing, and of course I was raging and yelling out loud with shock! I swear one of these days I’m going to guess the bad guy correctly!! I really thought I had it this time but nooooo! I truly don’t know how she does it, but I so love the experience!!!

Cope and Sutton were so great and together, their chemistry was amazing and I loved how Cope bonded with Suttons son! I’m such a sucker for a single parent romance especially when the hero is so good with the kid! I’m not much of a hockey girly but Catherine even had me loving that aspect!!

The narrators brought this story to life in such an incredible way! I highly recommend listening to this audiobook!

Broken Harbor is the 3rd book in the Sparrow Falls series and are we even surprised that this was another Catherine Cowles banger?! Small town, single mom, hockey hero + baker heroine, forced proximity, hurt/comfort, found family, he spoils her, romantic suspense!

Sutton is a single mom to her 7-year old son Luca and a baker in town, they moved to Sparrow Falls two years prior after Sutton was able to get away from her ex and the lifestyle/bad guys he got wrapped up with. She is bringing Luca to hockey camp when she meets Cope in the parking lot after having a flat tire. He offers her help but she turns him down, then they meet again inside since he’s coaching the hockey camp…and happens to be her son’s favorite hockey player “The Reaper” for the Seattle Sparks.

Both Cope and Sutton are pulled to one another from the start, their chemistry was so apparent but Sutton has a strict “no more athletes” rule after her ex-husband. Cope also has tragedy in his past and doesn’t feel like he deserved to be happy. But when he finds out about her current living situation, he immediately moves her and Luca in with him!

I just adored Cope and Sutton together! And seeing him with Luca too was the cutest. I loved all the hockey time we get in this one! And the way Cope spoils them both and is such a caretaker, so good! He calls her “Warrior”, reads mommy blogs to find out the best carseat to take her son safely to hockey practice, moves them in with him, he has a house big enough for his whole family to stay at, he gets a puppy when he finds out her son wanted one. I just love this series so much and I’m so very excited for what’s to come and couples to come, all the characters are so good in this series!

I received an ALC for the audiobook. Catherine’s audiobooks are always so good and have the best narrators for the characters. This one is narrated by Connor Crais (perfection for sports heroes) and Erin Mallon, always a win!

Broken Harbor, book three in the Sparrow Falls series is a wonderful addition to this series with characters that will pull at your heartstrings and a storyline that will keep you engaged from the first page.
Cope is a professional hockey player struggling with his career. He is also living with more guilt than anyone should after the death of his father and brother years earlier and when his friend died on his way home from a visit his guilt grew ten fold. What he finds, however since he met Sutton was some peace when she is around. He also finds his protective nature coming out when it comes to Sutton and her amazing son Luca.
Sutton is hiding from her ex who has struggled with drugs after an injury and will do whatever is necessary to keep herself and Luca safe and Sparrow Falls seems to be the town she feels connected to.
As these two open up and share their secrets they end up finding a safe place to fall within each other’s hearts and it was a joy to be along for their journey.

Two broken people who finally find peace and love.

This book is an amazing addition to the Sparrow Falls series. This third installment follows Sutton, a single mother haunted by her past, and Cope, a professional hockey player with his own share of trauma. The way they navigate their past together and are there for each other is beautiful.Cope's protective nature and unwavering devotion to Sutton and her young son, Luca, is heartwarming. The bond between Cope and Luca is particularly touching. The suspenseful plot keeps you on the edge of your seat, with a shocking revelation you won't see coming.

The audiobook narration is exceptional. Their performances bring the characters to life, capturing their emotions and chemistry perfectly. Broken Harbor is a must-listen for fans of romantic suspense.
