Josie Hayes is always on the run. From bad decisions. From heartbreak. From cowboys.

Her latest escape was supposed to be a quiet reset at her family's cabin in Tennessee—not a reckless detour at a smoky backwoods bar and definitely not a collision with Lincoln Carter. Rugged and magnetic, he's temptation in a cowboy hat, and his slow smile makes forgetting her rules far too easy.

Their connection is instant, electric, and impossible to ignore. What starts with teasing glances and lingering touches spirals into a series of nights that feel like more—too much more. By the end of the week, Josie does what she does best: she bolts, leaving behind only her name and the memory of a man she can't shake.

A year later, Josie's done running. With a steady job, a new boyfriend, and her life finally on track, she's ready to prove she's not the same girl she used to be. Except her father's prestigious summer horse training program just brought a ghost from her past straight to her front door.

Lincoln isn't the forgiving type, and now that he's on the ranch, he's determined to show Josie exactly what she left behind—and what they could have had if she'd stayed.

As old wounds reopen and sparks reignite, Josie must decide: keep running from her past or take a chance on the cowboy who just might be worth staying for?

absolutely love Josie & Lincoln! The audio for this was so freaking enjoyable! I listened to it in a day! Performed in dual by Savannah Thomas & Austin Stone and both did an amazing job with this one!

When Josie finds herself needing an escape and walking into a bar, she certainly wasn't planning for a night that was hot and heavy with a gorgeous man. But the chemistry and banter between them is perfect from the start! But after 5 days of never being apart, Josie finds herself running away, back to her life in Texas. And when Lincoln shows up later on her family's ranch to work, she is thrown off guard seeing him again. But this man...omg this man, he is determined to be with her again and does not hesitate to make his feelings known. Talk about swooning!!

I’ve read this book before, but the audio version is unmatched. I already loved Lincoln, but hearing his drawl was so much better. Josie’s feelings matched my own as I crawled through heartbreak. Needing a strong Cowboy to pick up the pieces.

Josie and Lincoln my heart

I’ve read a lot of cowboy romances. This was top teir. Second chance romance with the hottest mmc who falls first and hard AF. Need I say more… aside from how much I love this male narrator. I’ll listen to him all day. Read it now! Do yourself a favor.

Love!

Overall…it was a cute story and an easy read. Plot was kinda lame….

Had higher hopes for this book based on the reviews. It was an easy read and had some cute parts. However, I really struggled to like the FMC. It took her almost the ENTIRE book to pull her head out of her butt. MMC was a golden retriever, but also kind of a simp for her despite what an annoying coward she was the entire book. She didn’t deserve him. It felt like he was way more into her than she was him. Ughhh. I don’t know. It was just frustrating. They didn’t even officially “end up together” until like the last 30 min. I kind of want to read the rest of the series because her sisters seem more interesting than her, but I’m not sure if it will be worth it or not….🤣 ugh.

Narrators were decent!

Mediocre cowboy romance

I couldn't get enough of Lincoln and Josie. The book wasted no time getting into the heat (I mean, seriously 🥵 the pool table), but the story stole the show.

After being burned by yet another man, Josie ran from Texas for a week or two of solitude in Tennessee. That solitude quickly went out the window when she stopped into Lincoln's bar. The two of them spent a week in each other's arms before she left, never looking back.

Until a year later, when Lincoln showed up on her family's ranch. He is still so smitten with her, and I loved watching it pour out of his every interaction with her. Of course, we can feel her tug to him, but she has "an Ellis." (No cheating) Lincoln knows what he wants, and he's determined to get her, but he's respectful of her situation.
