"There were demons beneath my skin, and they lived to serve my devil."

Jonah

I’m being hunted.

No matter where I run, the devil always catches up to me. There is nowhere I can go where he can’t reach me. Dex Weller is the devil in human skin, and he calls to my inner demons. I have to run from him and the world of violence he belongs to, because I know if I don’t, I’ll surrender to him completely, and he’ll drag us both into Hell.

Dex

He cannot escape me.

Jonah Hargreaves is mine. He’s been mine since the moment we met. I saw it in his eyes, the way he wanted to surrender everything to me. For a while he did, but now he’s on the run. He’s my prey, my scared little rabbit. It’s only a matter of time before I catch him again, and when I do, I’ll make sure to keep him forever.

Jonah voice def wasn't my favorite, but the narrator did a great job at expressing them, and the author did a great job in general

good book, would listen to again

I’ll start by saying the narrator was not right for this story. I’d read this book before the audiobook came out, and was genuinely excited for the audiobook. The story is so good.

The narrator‘s voice for Jonah sounded like an old pretentious man. In contrast, his voice for Dex sounded like an old southern man. These guys were literally like under the age of 21.

Jonah is a menace. I remember reading the blurb on the back of the book thinking Dex was going to be a real problem. Jonah fool the hell out of me. I loved their story. I loved Dex‘s love for Jonah and how patient he was with him.

Side note: Can we have more of Roy please? So sweet!

Read it, don’t listen to it.

I adore the narrator but he couldn’t save the story. I tried to like it but not for me.

Love the narrator
