Wow! This book needs to be talked about more because let me tell you, it was *chiefs kiss* The plot was captivating—a mystery that we're only scratching the surface of. The MMC was not just morally grey, he had no morals. Most of the time I wasn't even sure I liked him, as in 'wow, your an actual asshole' but this made it feel so much more realistic and gave him actual character development. The FMMC was a spitfire and I loved her.

But what made this story a 5 ⭐️ read for me was the narration! Not only was it duel narrated, which is my all time favorite style, the voice actors did fantastic! Rachel Dane is absolutely amazing and I can not wait to listen to more from her!

I listen to the audio of this and WOW. The narrator’s were perfection. This couple is easy to love. They are from totally different worlds but really Riley just needed someone to love her the way she deserved. Love this book.

Right off the bat I knew I was going to admire our FMC, Riley. She persevered to protect her young sister and struggled to provide for her after family tragedy.
Our MMC, Kai, had to work hard for my respect, just as he did for Riley’s too. A dangerous man with questionable intentions. He set his sights on the mesmerizing dancer, “Star”, and would stop at nothing to make her his.
This story is based in a town that is ran by Kai, where he reigns with an iron fist. The men fear him, and the women want to be his. If he doesn’t control you, you’re his enemy. And there’s an unknown enemy out there that is pulling strings and making calls to tear it all down.
Kai is narrated by E. Montoya. With a deep, gruff voice that radiates Kai’s power into your ears. He does a phenomenal job voicing multiple male characters, all with their own distinctive voice.
Riley, “Star” is voiced by Rachel Dane. A narrating Star in her own right. Her sassy conversational tone expresses Riley’s strength and personality just as I picture her to be. She also dives into emotional dialogue as Riley experiences traumatic events and has me right there with her in the moment.
The chemistry between Kai and Riley is electric, and Rachel and E. had me blushing and swooning during the spicy scenes. We heard Kai soften his voice in tender moments, and Riley become sultry and breathy from his charms.
This story dos not end here, it continues into a second book. A plot twist and a Cliffhanger has me tapping my fingers eagerly waiting for the next book.
