Désormais, il existera entre l'Italie et lui un lien étroit, ineffaçable. C'est dans la Péninsule qu'il rencontre "son" paradis : l'Italie est réelle, vivante, terre de la beauté, de la passion, du bonheur. L'écrivain lui restera fidèle toute sa vie.
