Noah Hansen is the 19-year-old son of the Chief of Police. He risks his life daily with a combination of drug use and dangerous sexual encounters. He is chaotic and impulsive, constantly placing himself in harm's way just to get an adrenaline rush. He has maps of trauma that he keeps hidden and secrets he has never shared. Instead of facing his issues, he buries them.

Delane Marsh is a kindhearted, college student. She's loyal to her friends but naïve to most of life's dangers. The majority of her days are spent working and studying, and obsesses over perfection. One night, she just so happens to arrive at the wrong place, wrong time. Her whole life as she knows it changes in a split second.

Silas Thorne is a well-known business magnate, set to inherit his uncle's wealth and corporations. He grew up in the spotlight of fame and money. He is skilled in manipulation tactics, underhanded business deals and—above all—is deeply infatuated with Noah. He is calculated, cold, and stops at nothing to get what he wants.

Unexpectedly, Noah finds himself face to face with the young and captivating Delane. He is forced to make a decision. Save her, a stranger, from her attackers—or don't get involved.

If one of the attackers hadn't been Silas Thorne, Noah’s childhood adversary, his choice might have been more simple. So he does it. He strikes a one time deal to save Delane—using his body as a gamble. He knows he will never see her again.

Little does Noah know, he won't be finished with the transaction any time soon. As he battles his traumas and addictions, he becomes ensnared in the lives of both Delane and Silas. Unsuspectingly, a too close to home predator from his past threatens to destroy him entirely.

And this time, he doesn't know if he will survive.

First of all.. READ YOUR TRIGGERS BEFORE GOING FORWARD

This story is not for the weak hearted and can be triggering but if you pass go after reading the triggers this story is so worth it! You’ll laugh, cry, get angry and wanna scream, have your heart break and feel loved. The roller coaster of emotions is played perfectly by each of the voice actors!

Ivan played the part of Noah perfectly. When things got tense you can hear the emotions in his voice perfectly

Dani plays not just Delane, but all females on point! She made each character have their own personality. The emotions throughout each character was know how they were feeling by the tone in her voice.

I couldn’t think of a more perfect person to play Silas than Lucas. Even the side characters that Lucas played, especially David, you can feel the dedication to each character and hear the feelings that the character was feeling.

Where to even start!?

The Addict by Charlie Noir is narrated in full cast duet style by Dani Staro, Ivan Morea, and Lucas Troy, and the audio is absolutely incredible.

Dani Staro does such a strong job with the female characters. She gives each of them a distinct feel, and I loved the way she captured an FMC who is pulled toward someone she knows she should probably avoid. She also has that narrator gift where she can make you genuinely loathe a character without making it feel exaggerated.

Ivan Morea brought so much heartbreak to this story. His performance made the MMC’s emotional spiral feel heavy in the best way. You could feel the devastation in him, and I really appreciated how much vulnerability he brought to a character who could have easily felt one-note in the wrong hands.

Lucas Troy was wild in the best possible way. There were moments where the way he whispered in his ear had me thinking, okay, that was hot, and then the next moment he would voice the other character in a way that genuinely gave me goosebumps because it was so creepy. That switch was so impressive because he made both sides believable without losing the intensity of either one.

I also really loved the production choices in this audiobook. The different sound shifts for time jumps, flashbacks, and the moments where he was hearing him in his head made the story easier to follow and added such a unique element to the listening experience. It felt immersive without feeling overproduced, and I really appreciated how intentional those details were.

This was such a cool audio experience, and after that cliffhanger, I am absolutely ready for book two.

THIS one of those audiobooks that quietly pulls you in and then refuses to let go. From the very beginning, the story feels raw and intimate, exploring addiction, trauma, and self-destruction in a way that never feels sensationalized. Instead, it’s deeply human. Charlie Noir doesn’t shy away from uncomfortable truths, and that honesty is what makes this story hit so hard.

The narrators brought Charlie Noir’s book to life by speaking each character in such a phenomenal way!

Totally Blown Back 💫

The Addict completely exceeded my expectations. This was a raw, emotional, and unflinching story about trauma, addiction, and deeply flawed characters. Noah’s journey as a truly broken boy pulled me in from the very beginning, and the toxic, complicated dynamic with Silas kept me emotionally invested throughout. When Delane enters the story, everything collides into chaos that is both heartbreaking and unforgettable.

The narration was outstanding. Ivan Morea’s gravelly voice perfectly captured the darkness of the story, Dani Staro delivered Delane’s emotions with incredible depth, and Lucas Troy took me on an emotional journey I won’t forget.

This audiobook is intense, painful, and beautifully done. I cannot wait for book two.
