I adored this book but it was made 200x better because of the way that Callie and Teddy recorded the dialogue. Having Teddy record all of Ivan's dialogue was genius and really drew me into the story even more. I know I will be revisiting Meatball and Satan's story many many times in the future.

In a rare move on my part, I started on release day and rode the growing hype-wave, hype that was warranted. If you’re a Zapata fan, FROM LUKOV WITH LOVE will slow-burn your brains out in the best way. It started just a little slow for me but by 20%, I was all in, over my head and in the Lukov-zone.

Lukov and Jasmine are assholes...together. This is hate to the factor 10 and I highlighted the heck out of this book. The dialogue was some of the best that Mariana has written and I soaked in the hilarious diatribe, repeatedly.

“I reeled back. And then couldn’t form a single ****ing world. Not one other than one that started with an m, ended with an r and sounded like trucker wucker.”

The context of LUKOV is sports, namely pairs figure skating and it’s as obsessive commitment as you might imagine. The context was just wondeful, the detail, the weaving into the life of the characters was as fulfilling as Kulti. Family and dogs (yes, that’s my heart melting right here) were key to this story and made for such a rich read.

The hate was strong but there were moments of emotion and pain that floored me. The flip in emotion was cleverly written and sucker-punched at the same time. I am now basking in my thoughts of these two post-read, thinking that I’ll need a copy on my shelf to admire with the others.

I love the banter and chemistry between the main characters. I laughed, cried, sighed and maybe even giggled a few times. 😁

Mariana Zapata has a way of telling a story in detail and make sure her characters grow and you truly believe it’s real love. This is a beautiful slow burn romance with lots of skating details.
Callie Dalton narrated most pf the story and did very good even including a decent Russian accent. Teddy Hamilton had a small part throughout the story but still did very good.
Highly recommended if you enjoy longer stories with slow burn romance.

Looking for an amazing slow burn audiobook? It doesn’t get much better than this. Mariana Zapata’s words are absolutely amazing but narrators Callie Dalton and Teddy Hamilton make this audiobook gold medal worthy. You can’t go wrong with this audiobook. And if it’s your first for this author you will be needing more credits because you will want to listen to everyone one of hers after your finished!
This duet narration by Callie Dalton and Teddy Hamilton is going to make them an in demand narrating team. They are just fabulous together. I can’t wait for more form them.
