I liked the storyline but it really was slow to take off. I also didn’t like how mean Max was at the beginning. I feel like she could’ve still been a tough girl without the off-putting attitude. However she softened up as the story progresses and I became engrossed in the book. I’m glad I kept listening. Once the story took off there was plenty of steam and it was pretty HOT! Looking forward to book 2! Narration was excellent.

This duet is SO. FREAKING. GOOD!!! Madi has become one of my favorite authors this year and she does dark romance so so well!! This duet is so freaking spicy, exciting, climatic in all the delicious ways, amazing personalities and character development. The side characters are so great and the villians villian HARD.

I would love to see more from Danner in the future, I loved her so much. Girls girl to the Max! Pun intended!

I love spice, and I also love a good plot. the spice was definitely written to protection, and the plot was lacking. I predicted everything that happened and bought the second book before even starting this one which is on me. I was trying to get through book 2 because I paid for it, but ugh. I can't. it's just so frustrating not only because I knew how it was going to go down but because it all seem false and just disappointing. not work my money.

Narration is done in dual, but is pretty good. I'd say for it being dual is about ⭐️4/5.
