Luna’s take on it is absolutely diabolical, and I love everything about it! The way she morphed it into an erotic horror from the perspective of a ciguapa.. Such a twisted mastermind! Katrina Medina’s narration brought it to life! The emotions were raw with the pain and anger of the ciguapa. I felt the rage. This is one folklore I wouldn’t reading or listening all over again!

i was really hopeful for 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶. all she wanted was freedom from her current condition & bring her mom back to her home in dominican republic. but what happens to her there was juz unimaginable!! theres def 𝙉𝙊 romance, 𝙉𝙊 hea!! juz loads of raw, unfiletered shmex...but make it gory & horrific!!

with that said... ofc i ate this shhht up!! 𝘬𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘢 did a fantastic job in this solo narration!! i was hooked from the jump!! this lore is new to me & if it was told around a campfire/sleepovers, id def be freaked & find myself hard to fall asleep!! hearing this book in audio is the absolute next best thing!!

This story, WOW! Not only is the writing & storyline perfectly executed, and everything I look for in a splatterpunk, but the audio was flawless. Katrina did an amazing job, and gave it everything. I absolutely loved the feminine rage, d3pravity, and just absolute filth. Another incredible book from Luna!

I enjoyed this book! It's crazy to think that stuff like this does happen in real life. I loved that the FMC got her revenge and then some! The main reason I didn't do a full five stars is because of the constant translation RIGHT after the Spanish. (ex: Hola, come estas? Hi, how are you?). I know Spanish, so that annoyed me, but it's understandable why the author did that. I simply did not like it.
The story follows FMC through a traumatic experience, while already dealing with the death of her mother. She then encounters a Ciguapa, which is kind of the same thing as La Llorona. She then starts turning into one herself. The spicy scenes when she's devouring these men are insanely good! Like, they fully deserve what they got!
Nice and short book.

I had never heard of this folklore but was hooked from the start. So good!!! 10/10 recommend picking this one up!
