A cast of friendly characters invite friends over for a play – there's fun to be had, food to eat and families to meet!

Eleven-year-old Mei Li lives in China and wonders about her new English teacher Missy, who is a "foreign devil" from America. While Missy teaches her English, Mei Li teaches Missy how to live in China. She takes her to the shops and bargains for her. She cautions her not to drink unboiled water. As their friendship grows, Mei Li learns that Missy is what some call a Christian and believes that she will live forever. When a boy in Mei Li's class dies unexpectedly, Mei Li has questions about eternity.

Alone on a deserted island in Lake Michigan, five kids learn to survive. Ages five to thirteen, they are orphans and foster children who simply want a home. No one saw them stow away on the yacht. Nor did anyone see them climb overboard and into a life raft in the middle of the night. Armed with only the meager supplies in their pockets, they learn to fish and make a shelter and even hunt. Only twelve-year-old Karen knows Jesus as her Savior.

The schoolteacher does not like children. The sheriff is a cocky 18-year-old. Each family is dependent on one another. With all of the coping of this new life, they begin questioning basic things.

In this concluding sequel of the series The Documentary, 21st-century settlers, eking out a living in a settlement set up like the 19th century, face unexpected challenges when new settlers begin arriving.

Stormer is now captain of an outlawed transport, endeavoring to bring peace to his universe. Since the outlaws rule, the risk is great. The difficulty is made all the more when a disease settles among his crew, causing each to hallucinate, believing whatever was said at the moment the disease struck each one. Some of the hallucinations are humorous, while some are deadly. They are all counseled against challenging one another's hallucinations.

Eric's platoon enters World War II, engaging in the African campaign, battling in Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. Lillian becomes involved with the Red Cross, much to her friends' and family's disapproval. Ruth Ellen takes up the slack on the farm, doing the work that her brother, Billy, had done before joining the war. Laura joins the Cooper family and helps Ruth Ellen. Pamela continues merrily on her way, attending war party after war party, under the pretense of raising money for the GIs.

Six orphans are suddenly drawn into a comic book of fairy tales. In this comic book world, they have magical powers that they use to try to restore the original artwork that the evil Paint Thinner and Eraser have distorted. Our heroes meet up with Hansel and Gretel, Jack (of the beanstalk), and Cinderella. Since they themselves have become two-dimensional, the comic book world looks natural to them. But they soon discover that there are different physical laws in this land of two dimensions.

Now that World War II is over, Eric and his men face a new war: teaching at a boys' military academy. Many of these cadets are there only because they were thrown out of their schools or discarded by their families.

A platoon of misfit American soldiers from all walks of life forms a World War II force to be feared. From the son of a billionaire, the son of a farmer, and that of a street bum, emerge heroes. Back home, their families grapple with the realities of war-ration stamps, fear of receiving telegrams from the war department, more work to do than there are hands to do it; and the temporary and permanent absence of husbands, fathers, brothers, and sons.

World War 2 continues on to Sicily, a break in England, the Normandy Invasion and on into Northern France. Eric shoulders his new responsibilities as a lieutenant making life and death decisions for his men. Lillian finds herself in England, working with the Red Cross. When Ruth Ellen is left desolate, back home in America, she must decide whether or not to accept Eric's offer to marry her by proxy, though they barely know each other.

The thrill of fairytales mixes with the deeper story-lines that appeal to adults and gives the listener of Fairytales and Shorts for Grownups a different experience than when reading stories written for children. Some are fairy tales without magic, and others are the retelling of old and loved fairy tales, but with an unexpected twist. Some of the stories are simply short stories or novelettes, allowing for those who have only a little time for books to enjoy stories like everyone else.

Having escaped the world of Arena, Stormer and his companions discover a door that takes them to another place - or is it another time? It is a land in which people not only know about the outlawed Ancient Book, but many believe it. No one has heard about the lies of the Book of the Great Teachings of Arena. Just when all of them are breathing deeply the air of freedom and relief from oppression, an old diary presents itself. What really is the truth after all?

When Denzel and his fellow quest-seekers begin reading the short stories at Summer Bible Camp, they find themselves suddenly involved in these stories as the actual characters. Suddenly they're popping back and forth from the shadow world, where they've lived all of their lives, to the dream realm of the real world.

World War Two concludes as Eric leads his men through France, Belgium, and Germany, finally bringing what remains of this tattered platoon home once again. Lillian deals with treating wounded GIs in a hospital in England. Ruth Ellen suffers amnesia, and does not even remember the war or her husband. Through it all, God leads His people and provides everything they need.

Modern-day teenager Denzel suddenly finds himself in a world that looks like that of King Arthur's Court. His Bible has become a literal sword, and his faith a shield in his hand. According to the chief knight, he has been in this real world countless times and refers to the world Denzel came from as the shadow world. The knight explains that once someone remembers the shadow world, he will likely not forget it or the real world again. Both worlds affect each other.

Walking Australia describes the way Americans Charlie and Sally Hull most enjoy seeing the country, meeting the people along the way. From the streets of Sydney, over to the desert of Alice Springs, and on down to Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road, the old mining town of Ballarat and up into the Blue Mountains, the Hulls talk and laugh with Australians and visitors alike as they enjoy the culture differences and beauty of Australia.

Eric Monroe-DuSharme's ancestors are introduced as they make their way over to America on a 17th century sailing vessel from England. Indentured servant Josephine is saved alive by the young aristocrat Adrian Monroe when her master is beating her to death. Adrian buys her indenture papers in order to keep her safe from the man, intending to set her free.

Lee Graham is faced with the decision of remaining in his beloved city, whose pollution is toxic to his lungs, or taking up the offer of free land in a Michigan wilderness. The magazine that offers Lee the free land has one stipulation: he cannot step foot off of the designated area in the wilderness for an entire year without forfeiting the land.
