A deliciously sexy age gap, stalker dark romance from USA Today bestselling author Jane Henry

I've been watching her for six years.

Bianca White is sunshine and innocence.

I'm the monster they whisper about in the dark.

And she hates me, for good reason.

I told myself I'd stay away. That I'd keep my distance and just make sure she was safe. But on the night of her college graduation, I have no choice.

So I take her.

I cage my little bird in the woods where no one can touch her. Where no one can take her from me.

Yet she doesn't take it easy. She fights me and begs to go back to the man who will kill her.

She'll learn, though, that some cages are gilded for a reason, and that anyone who wants to harm her will have to come through me first.

Bianca didn't know it, but she was always mine. Now everyone else will too.

*Wicked Sanctuary* is an intense, all-consuming dark Irish mafia romance that completely pulled me in from beginning to end. Jane Henry doesn't shy away from the darker elements of the story, and that's exactly what made it so compelling. Ashland is a morally gray hero in every sense of the word—a fighter, an enforcer, and a man who has spent six years watching over Bianca from the shadows after saving her life. What begins as protection grows into obsession, and somehow Jane Henry makes it both unsettling and impossible to look away from.

I didn't want to like Ashland. He's possessive, controlling, and completely unhinged at times. But he's also fiercely devoted, and every decision he makes—no matter how extreme—comes from his need to keep Bianca safe. What made his obsession work for me was how personal it felt. He knows her fears, habits, dreams, and vulnerabilities because he's spent years paying attention when no one else did. Once I understood the depth of his devotion, I couldn't help but fall for him right alongside Bianca.

Bianca was a standout heroine. Despite years of insecurity caused by her toxic mother, she doesn't simply accept her circumstances. She questions, resists, and fights back every step of the way. Watching her discover the truth, find her confidence, and ultimately choose Ashland for herself was one of the most satisfying parts of the story. Their relationship walks the line between protector and prisoner, obsession and vulnerability, and the emotional payoff was worth every bit of tension.

The side story involving Bianca's mother's betrayal added another layer of emotional depth, while the McCarthy family's found-family dynamic brought warmth and support that balanced the darker themes beautifully. I also loved the girl squad moments and the way the secondary characters continued to enrich this world. The final confrontation was absolutely wild and delivered the high-stakes ending this story deserved.

The audiobook elevated the experience even further. Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross were phenomenal, and their accents added so much authenticity and atmosphere to the story. This was one of those rare audiobooks where I could vividly picture every scene unfolding. Ashland's obsession felt even more intense in audio, while Bianca's vulnerability, fear, and strength came through beautifully. Their performances pulled me deeper into the story and made an already immersive book even more unforgettable.

If you enjoy dark romance with an obsessive "touch her and die" hero, age-gap romance, forced proximity, emotional depth, and plenty of tension, *Wicked Sanctuary* absolutely delivers. My heart was racing from beginning to end, and I'm officially hooked on the McCarthy Family Legacy series.

I loved the first book so much and this one i just liked... im glad I read it. it was a great story line and the relationship building is amazing! but i feel like it was rushed or something.. like at the end, he brings up taking her to the sex club but then it just jumps to the proposal and setting up for the next book... I'm happy I read it and not at all upset about the credit spent but I think maybe I had really high expectations? idk.. why even mention the club if youre not going to write a scene about it? lol

it was good 🤷‍♀️

I love getting the next generation stories- and Jane always brings such life to these characters. The narration does a wonderful job with the characters as well. I did find myself predicting the storyline and wanting more, however I enjoyed it. 4.5/5 story 5/5 performance
