Five years ago, Arielle’s dream life with Caleb was derailed when he left for Boston in search of work. Only, he never made it and turned up dead. Now, Arielle struggles to piece together what happened, while raising their daughter Ianthe alone.

A mysterious stranger shows up and suggests that Ianthe might know what happened to Caleb. Only, Ianthe has never met her father. Caleb’s secrets begin to come to light, and it’s all Arielle can do to keep her and her daughter safe.

But how can she, when Ianthe holds the key to the truth but is too frightened to talk about what she knows? What really happened to Caleb? All Arielle knows is that she’d better figure it out - and fast.

This is an interesting story filled with lots of emotion! Some sad and some happy feelings associated with this book. There are lots of secrets, mystery and surprises.
Sometimes the different timelines had me a bit confused, but it all came back together.
The book is very well written and I enjoyed the authors writing style!
The narrator does a very good job with the audiobook as well.

Arielle was ready to end it all, but then Caleb came into her life. Then tragedy… the truth might finally be revealed five years later from a very unexpected source.

I absolutely loved the suspense and tension throughout the story. I will certainly be checking out more works by R.M. Demeester.

The narration by Ariel Williams seemed somewhat detached, but it really worked with the story.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

I really liked this story.
It was engaging, and the characters were interesting. I was guessing until the end, without a clue as to the end. Great job at keeping the suspense.
The narrator was okay.

I couldn't even listen to this audiobook because the narrator was that bad. I will not leave any stars on this review because I like the author and her work. Although if I were her...I would greatly consider retaking interviews to have the book read with emotion and vigor. I purchased the book and will read it myself then leave an appropriate review on that edition.

I will read it

A very interesting, entertaining read. Had a hard time figuring out what Ianthe knew! Great characters. The author did take a lot of prerogative. Not sure why Caleb felt he would never see his girlfriend again and write letters to her and their unborn baby.
I was gifted an Audible version of this book from Story Origin and this is my voluntary review.
The narrator does an excellent job telling the story. She reads a little too slow for my liking but very distinct and easy to follow.

Let's figure out what Ianthe knew.
