This was an audio reread for me and I have to say it's still one of my favorite Mafia books. Gio, oh Gio 🥵, yes please. The mouth on this man 🤤. He knows what he wants and he isn't afraid to speak his mind. They say this is reverse grumpy/sunshine.... I think Gio is better described as a grumpy cinnamon roll. Iseult also fills that grumpy roll well. Total bad ass strong FMC. 

The audio is fantastic and both narrators really nailed each role!

I love the Messina Crime Family series and with each book just gets better and I don’t know how. And then I listened to this audio and it’s just an experience on another level. Jason and Ramona did an exceptional job. It was so spicy and the dirty words from Jason is absolutely delicious. 🤤

This story was so hot, intense and absolute perfection. And a must for everyone. 👌🏻

THIS. AUDIOBOOK. I have already loved this book when I read it as a physical copy, but hearing the narrators being some of my favorite characters to life was everything.

I enjoyed this story and Lilian’s writing never fails to disappoint me. I can’t wait for her future books and audiobooks that are to come 💗

In the previous book, we find out that Rafe is Patrick’s son and Patrick has been in love with Rafe/Michael/Gios mom for years. Iseult is Patrick’s daughter. She’s an assassin for the Irish mafia. Gio meets her one night while they’re out on a kill “same target”..
Her best friend, Kora is also an assassin trained from the same facility that the Quinns own. They go on jobs together. She has a secret identity and doesn’t want to give Gio her name.
He finds her one night while she’s out on a job — they go back to her apartment and they sleep together. He wants her but all she does is run.
Part 2 (a year later)
Patrick wants an alliance with the Italian mafia so he wants Eriu to marry Gio.
They finally meet in Patrick’s house under the arranged marriage agreement. He doesn’t wanna marry her sister and Iseult is jealous. They go back and forth throughout the entire book. Gio wants to be with her but she doesn’t want to tell anyone. Kora turns on Iseult — Sergey is her father.

I had such a blast listening to this book; they were absolutely hilarious together. Jason Clarke was amazing, and Ramona Master did a great job, though her narration was a bit too fast at times. I really wish more of these audiobooks were duets—they would have been pure fire!
