Bodhi Hoffman’s life has always been centered around two things: his daughter and his hockey career.
But then he meets Honor Erikson—a curvy redhead with an aversion to athletes despite being the coach’s daughter. Or maybe, as he learns, it’s just an aversion to him.
Suddenly, the NHL’s best right-winger is wondering if he can make room in his life for the mysterious woman and her service dog. That is, if she’ll let him.
Because the secrets that Honor holds onto are meant to keep the famous hockey player at arm’s length. But fate and her father have other plans.

The story also felt a bit "hollow" in terms of pacing—I kept waiting for the conflict or the steam to ramp up, but it remained pretty flat. The hero’s daughter only seemed to appear when it was convenient for the plot, and for a book in a "hot" genre, the spice was almost non-existent (only two scenes at the very end).
While the trend of hockey romance is huge right now, it felt like the research was missing here. Calling a game a “hockey match” or referring to “season passes” instead of season tickets pulled me out of the story immediately. The logistics of the new team expansion also felt unrealistic, as did the medical privacy—if a team doc knows about an injury, that info is going straight to the head coach.
