1814 promises to be another eventful season, but not, this author believes, for Anthony Bridgerton, London's most elusive bachelor, who has shown no indication that he plans to marry. And in all truth, why should he? When it comes to playing the consummate rake, nobody does it better... - Lady Whistledown's Society Papers, April 1814

But this time the gossip columnists have it wrong. Anthony Bridgerton hasn't just decided to marry - he's even chosen a wife! The only obstacle is his intended's older sister, Kate Sheffield - the most meddlesome woman ever to grace a London ballroom. The spirited schemer is driving Anthony mad with her determination to stop the betrothal, but when he closes his eyes at night, Kate's the woman haunting his increasingly erotic dreams.

Contrary to popular belief, Kate is quite sure that reformed rakes do not make the best husbands - and Anthony Bridgerton is the most wicked rogue of them all. Kate is determined to protect her sister - but she fears her own heart is vulnerable. And when Anthony's lips touch hers, she's suddenly afraid she might not be able to resist the reprehensible rake herself.

What did you love best about The Viscount Who Loved Me?

The interactions between Kate Sheffield and Lord Anthony Bridgerton.

What did you like best about this story?

When the wealthy Lord Anthony decides to take a wife he chooses Kate's sister; the beautiful, petite "Diamond" of the London season. Kate has set herself up as her sister's protector against the rakes and undesirables who are vying for the beauty's hand. She is especially against the charming Viscount Anthony Bridgerton reported to be the biggest rake in London. Their interchange is hilarious; she steps on his feet, and he steps on her hand.

What about Rosalyn Landor’s performance did you like?

Everything, she is an excellent narrator.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed out loud on several occasions.

Any additional comments?

After the poor choices in entertainment I've made of late "The Viscount Who Loved Me" was a pleasant surprise.

Good One!

Five stars for Pall Mall. Three for the rest. I didn’t like Anthony in The Duke and I and I still didn’t like him here until the house party in Kent. I liked Kate better in the first half of the book. Once she has fallen for Anthony, she turned bland.

Hints on Lady Whistledown’s identity are starting to show here.

Pall Mall saved this

The Pall Mall game alone is worth the listen ! Ms. Landor's narration is brilliant as usual.

A Favorite!

Viscount Anthony Bridgerton is described as a rake and a rogue by Lady Whistledown. For this reason, Kate Sheffield is determined he is reprehensible and wants nothing to do with him. Anthony believes that 1814 is the year he should marry, but he sets his eyes on Kate's younger sister Edwina. However, his mother invites both of the Sheffields to a country house party and it is there that fate decides which Sheffield Anthony should marry.

The Viscount Who Loved Me is another excellent story from Quinn. The believable emotional conflict that both hero and heroine must overcome from their past draws them closer together as they realize they do love each other. The quirky croquet game, the antics of Newton, Kate's corgy bring in added comic relief to lighten the tension.

If you loved The Duke and I, then I am certain you will enjoy this book as well.
