Marlon Byrne was born long ago in a distant country, but for close to a century he’s been buried deep in the ground in the small town of Occident. The book was nice, but nothing more than that. Something about the relationship between Marlon and Blake didn’t really work for me. The first part of the book was less interesting in my opinion, and later it became more exciting when the vampire who imprisoned Marlon appeared, along with other vampires and witches. I also didn’t connect with the narration style of the audiobook, and that may have affected my ability to connect with the plot as well.

I truly loved this story. A mm vampire love story with some great characters and a couple unsavory ones. Through this book I was shown it’s important to meet the people who we love when we can and also to know it’s going to happen when it’s meant to. Life is important and we should always try to enjoy it. I definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves mm romance stories with some undead characters to add a little spice. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters to life in a manner of speaking.

I love Blake and Marlon's love story. Marlon was buried by what he thought was his mate and in his place a story was told. Told of a vampire buried with his abundance of gold. When Blake and his friend decided to dig up the grave Marlon was in, Blake discovered a not so dead vampire without gold. But what Blake didn't know at first was he was Marlons mate, not Blakes great, great uncle. They encountered trials and they got through them.

This book was about more than Marlon and Blake. It was also about found family and burying grudges. Nothing was as I expected coming in. I love How Marlon and Blake's relationship played out. I love how they all eventually worked together. The narrator was amazing. I've listened to many of the books he's narrated so I'm sure I've said it all before but his accent changes and personality changes between characters are spot on. I'm never disappointed when I see his name on any audiobook that I listen to.

Blake and Marlon story through the narrator voices and accents was interesting.
I liked how he portrayed the tension, betrayal, danger, love, emotions, and the events through the journey.
I liked his cadence and the contributions to the story.
It was an interesting adventure and there’s some characters that I hope I see more of.
