I used to be the greatest Earth Mage in my world. The head of the entire Order of Architects. But the older you get, the more you come to realize that at some point, you need to retire, so that you can have the chance to enjoy a peaceful life and to cede your place to the young, some of whom have already turned two thousand years old . . .

So that's what I did. I had everything I could ever want, and even more besides. But I failed to account for one thing: during the course of my long life, I'd accumulated too many enemies, and they had decided to spoil my retirement. So they died along with me. And I hope their deaths were final. But mine was not!

I've been reborn in a strange new world, and I now need to start over. I still have all my experience and memories, but what about my power? I've managed to climb to the top once already; I can do it again! And it's crucial that I do so before this world is consumed by the beasts from the Shadow Plane . . .

Okay so, let me start off by saying I've read like 8.5 books from three different series of this authors and I have enjoyed them all. That being said, I've noticed some things that have kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. At first I thought it was just the characters having flaws and being imperfect but over the course of the three different series I have to reconcile the fact that it is probably with the author that these issues lay and not the characters. There are several instances per book of sexism, misogyny, and underlying racial stereotyping. I truly want to believe that this is subconscious on the part of the author, but I can't say for sure; equally as troubling is the lack of recognition of these instances I've seen in reviews. It truly is hard to notice and easy to excuse at first, but after completing The Hunter's Code book 3, it's impossible to miss at this point. The series in reference/books I've completed are The Hunter's Code 1-3, The Healers Way 1-6, and The Order of Architects 1-2. I would say it is most prominent in the Hunter's Code and least prominent in The Order of Architects, and I am unsure if this has to due with the coauthors in particular. I think it's extra disappointing cause the books themselves are pretty good, the worlds are unique, the magic system is pretty well-balanced, and, for the most part, the characters are relatable and pretty interesting. Also it goes without saying (and even with) that the narrators all do an excellent job.

Wasn’t sure what to expect, but overall a good book and good story. Looking forward to the next in the series to come out

Surprisingly good

I really enjoyed the store but unfortunately the narrator's reading makes the mail main character sound like a pretentious jerk or an evil villain.

Great store but a mediocre narration.

Although the cover didn't give me much hope, i found this title very enjoyable, i read the first three books almost non-stop, This book not exactly high art, but very interesting. Technically it is reverse Isekai\Reborn novel. But it is much more closer to the Chines Isekais than Japanese ones, because of unhealthy amount young and arrogant nobles. The world setting is good too, it is a alternate history with magic. There a good amount of political games that looks adequate enough to make story much more interesting in the long run.

If you want read some light novel without much drama, with confident and not stupid MC, this book is for you.

It was better than I expected.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It was different but entertaining and way more intriguing than I thought it would be. The narration was amazing and the characters, the storyline, the world development, just everything was well executed and I loved it. I can’t wait w see what happens next.

Finally something worthwhile.
