Assassination. War. Betrayal. Who is Thorne really fighting for?

Thorne has honed his skills in Uncle's assassination guild as one of the Lost Ones, and embarks on his last mission before being formally inducted.

The mission sets Uncle's ambitious plans for Thorne into motion—but also the far-reaching plans of their enemies. Alvar is fast becoming a ticking time bomb, and Thorne must transcend his limits to shape the final outcome.

But Thorne's power is attracting notice even beyond Alvar. The more potent his aetheric abilities, the harder they are to conceal.

And if he's discovered for what he is, it's game over.

Dive into an epic adventure that follows an ambitious MC as he claws his way to the heights of power, mastering blades and magic alike. Perfect for fans of King's Dark Tidings!

Fun series so far. Character development is very well done. The ending of the second book has me exited for the next. Im not sure of anything negative I could say.

I'm hooked.

I like a competent main character who can use there entire brain and not be a gullible fool. I Dislike that like most competent main characters a woman is going to be his downfall, I dont like him simping.

everything this book is peek.

30+ hours!! What a gift. This could have easily been 3 for the arch that it is. And yet our dear author gives us a heaping helping of top tier storytelling. - I highly recommend. And can’t wait for the next installment!

Adventure, Intrigue and Magic - Oh, My!!

The Aetherborn 2 maintains the high production quality and crunchy LitRPG progression mechanics of the first book, but falls short narratively due to frustrating character choices. Jonathan Waters delivers another exceptional, distinct performance, and the tactical, multi-class system remains engaging without bogged-down stat bloat.

However, Thorne’s character arc takes a problematic turn. His motivations become increasingly questionable, driven by sudden, unearned attachments to infant romantic interests. Watching a sharp protagonist willing to risk everything and jeopardize major strategic goals for a brand-new relationship severely damages the stakes and breaks immersion. The progression mechanics are solid, but the narrative logic undercutting the MC's decision-making makes this a frustrating step down from the debut.

Great Progression, but MC Motivations Falter

I liked the first book, but I hoped for more righteousness in the character as he got older, all I saw was evil. What happened to characters filled with righteousness. I don't want to see this protagonist win. He has to be stopped.
