Predictable but entertaining. Scott Brick delivers a solid performance. The book seems like it ends too soon.

A must read or listen from 1987....

It has its ups and downs, but it held my interest enough to finish it. MC substituted some gender and racial stereotypes for rich characterizations, leaving Harry and Beth rather one dimensional. Then again, Norman and Barns fell victim to that at times as well. What keeps you reading is the suspense and the many twists and turns, and some fresh ideas about first contact with extra terrestrial life.

I had high expectations. I was disappointed in the characters, they acted like total morons.

The movie has always been one of my top 10 movies. Anyone who has seen it I recommend listening to this book. It puts you in the mind of each character. I absolutely loved it. The narration was superb!!
