The first half was alright (we were building), but that second half?! Drag show bb.
The amount of twists, drops, & reveals had me throwing my dollars at K.V— Babes you turned that.

The audio was so fierce. I loved all the effects & it even had a song? OKAY PRODUCTION. I was vibing.
I fw w/ a good ol’ ancient prophecy trope.

Now, the characters were good, but I haven’t really picked a fave yet. Durvla is a mood, but like her I’m still figuring it out lmfao. I like Kilkenny, but I feel like Book 2 is where we’ll be booking tickets to Swoon City ✈️ Right now we’re very much still at home, checking dates & prices.

Princess Cary’s is def a fireball (lol) & I’m so excited for her growth up ahead ‘cause those last chapters?

Idc if she gets a villain arc at this point either, I’m here for it. They’ve been playing w/ her this whole damn book & I was soooo sick, throw away the whole kingdom at that point. And her Jean Grey moment?
Oh, I was seated on several seats.

Overall, I’m excited for Book 2!! This was def a nice intro, esp that second half— Once the ball dropped, there was literally barely any room to breathe in peace. Emma Fischer did an AMAZING job narrating!!

The narrator did a fantastic job. I really felt the difference in both fmcs. The singing, the muffled voices, the richness of characters your suppose to love, and the tackiness of those that are suppose to make your skin crawl; all those feeling delivered on top of a book that gives so much emotion. I didn’t want it to end.

Phenomenal listen! Durvla is such a queen...she definitely doesnt let her being deaf get in her way and it was so much fun to follow along her journey and see her overcome so many challenges. And Kilkenny.. 😍

The first part of the book was mostly world building, building up to all the action, and then goes crazy the second half. Lots of twists and turns!

The narrator also does a great job. She speaks clearly, does great with the different voices and enjoyable to listen to.

Overall, I loved it, stoked for the 2nd book!

This was an excellent start to a new fantasy world! Dual POV. The magic system is awesome! I don’t want to spoil anything! There is a large focus on character introduction and development throughout the first part of the book and then later the world and magic is explored! But, wow really entertaining! The disability representation is done so well. The ending of course leaves you wanting to jump in to book 2! Tropes: Slow Burn, One Bath Tub, Forced Proximity.

The narrator was really good! My only wish was that she would have made the girls voices different. Sometimes I got confused whose POV we were in. I listened at 1.75.
