Wonderful pacing and progression with a likable MC and solid system. It’s a great story and the narrator does a great job delivering it. This series has the potential for greatness.

It’s easy to get jaded and dismiss the tried and true littpg formula. That would be a loss for this book. The mc was great. He was vulnerable enough to be relatable but advanced through grit and toughness. All in all an enjoyable listen

this book is awesome. we follow the mc rise from the scums while needing to hide the fact that his first skill came from a stolen skill. one where the city lord will kill any one who has this skill. our mc having to find the best skills to hide the fact he has one of the stolen skills. an ruthless uncle who will turn you in for the bounty. A great ride with plenty of actions and twists. couldn't stop listening until I was finished. can't wait for book 2

Good story. Check. Good consistent narration without ear splitting spikes or whispering lulls in volume. Check. The skill system isn't completely original. The abusive background with an evil family member is a well-worn trope, but that's because it works. So far it's building very well and it is definitely a pleasant listen.
