The world is spiraling into war—and one team stands in the way of annihilation.

As Russian forces drive deep into Europe, American troops fight brutal battles in the Middle East, and Chinese warships close in across the Pacific, the free world is being squeezed to the breaking point. World War III has arrived—and the outcome isn’t looking good.

America and her allies are outnumbered, outgunned, and on the brink of collapse. For President Maggie Trousdale, the goal is no longer victory—it’s survival. Preventing nuclear firestorm is the only objective left.

But there is one last option. Not a conventional battle plan but a mission so dangerous no leader dares speak of it aloud. To attempt it, Washington turns to the CIA’s most classified covert strike unit: the Prosecution Force.

Reed Montgomery and his operators are shattered—scarred by missions that nearly killed them, scattered and hanging by a thread. But when the call comes, they answer. Because the stakes demand nothing less.

They know the odds. They know the cost. And they’ll walk straight into the fire—ready to give everything, even if it means never coming home.

I was such a fan of the early Mitch Rapp books and I listened to Brad Thor while I redid my floors. So it was nice to jump back in the genre and get my adrenaline going.

First I am jumping in mid series and I had no trouble following the plot. The author does a good job filling in any gaps I needed.

Other than a female President, which I just don’t think can happen now, this felt like it could be real life. US and Russia at odds. A huge cat and mouse game between the two with dire consequences on the line. The team protecting the US stakes are battered and beat up yet giving their all. And that explosive ending.

I was drawn to the characters and their relationships. Knowing a little about them helped me connect with them and make them real.

The pace and tension just kept ratcheting up the further along I was. This is the epitome of high stakes and fact paced.

Gary Bennett does an excellent job as narrator. He’s able to bring the characters to life and have the right emotion and intensity at the right moments. The listen was easy to follow and kept me engaged. The time listening flew by.

This will appeal to Vince Flynn and Brad Thor fans along with anyone liking fast paced political thrillers.

Logan Ryles delivers a sprawling, globetrotting epic in Red Horizon, the tenth installment of The Prosecution Force series. For readers or listeners jumping into Reed Montgomery’s world for the first time, Ryles makes the entry point effortless. The character dynamics are instantly accessible, allowing the audience to dive straight into the high-stakes conflict without getting bogged down in prior backstory.
Utilizing a classic, Tom Clancy-esque multi-POV strategy, Ryles masterfully bounces across the globe to build a massive, interconnected chessboard. While the narrative takes its time carefully setting the stage in the opening acts, the payoff is immense. Once the plot lines converge mid-book, the pacing shifts into overdrive.
A major highlight of this book is the audiobook production. Narrator Gary Bennett delivers a stellar, powerhouse performance. Striking the perfect balance between cinematic intensity and steady, clear pacing, Bennett brings Ryles’s massive cast to life and maintains a gripping momentum across every global jump.
While the portrayal of the military forces leans heavily into a highly stylized, idealized "Hollywood" heroism—complete with ultra-patriotic, flawless troops and larger-than-life commanders—it perfectly matches the blockbuster scale of the story. For fans of classic, high-octane espionage fiction where the good guys are elite, the stakes are global, and the action is relentless, Red Horizon is a highly entertaining ride.

Red Horizon is a turbine engine once it spools up puts out serious heat!

The author should have done his research into opiate addiction and also liver transplants. His ignorance on both conditions is so profound it makes the story unreadable at times.

If you like action-packed books and the exploration of political shifts impacting the world, you’ll love this! I also appreciated the fairly well depicted Christianity sprinkled in…it seemed subtle but genuine.

Good political action
