When Gwen McAllister is accosted behind the soup kitchen where she volunteers, she wants to repay her homeless rescuer, so she talks him into going to her home for a meal. Despite her son’s and sister’s objections, she trusts Hunter.

Hunter Nash reluctantly goes with Gwen, but he leaves as soon as he can. With the baggage he carries, the widow and her three children don’t need him around.

However, circumstances put them together again, and Hunter finds it hard to keep his feelings turned off and remain uncaring. But he's determined to protect Gwen, even from himself.

What a wonderful, romantic story. The characters are skillfully created and I fell in love with Gwen and Hunter. I could understand the issues that Gwen's family feared, but I was so drawn into the story, I just wanted to sit them down and tell them Gwen was a grown woman and could make her own decisions and handle the consequences, good or bad. This is a very inspirational story and reminds the reader/listener to refrain from making assumptions and judgments about others. A good, clean book just as I always can count on from Ms. Hopkins.

The narration was good and helped to bring the characters to life.

I received this audiobook from the author and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Christian Contemporary Romance

What a wonderful story of waiting for God's best and His best timing!

I loved how the whole story was about trying to follow God's will, despite the tragedies they all suffered!

The narration wasn't perfect, But it was very good!! The sister's voice was exactly right for her personality!

This was a heartwarming, sweet Christian romance. I enjoyed the family aspect of the story and the way the mother showed her children that everyone deserved a chance. She taught them true Christian values not only through words but through her actions. I would have given the story five stars however I did find there were some spots in the story that dragged and lost my attention however all in all it was a beautiful story. The narration was fairly well done. Unfortunately the narrator didn’t do male voices at all so it was difficult to distinguish between the male and female voices and know who was speaking at times. I received a free copy of this book and have voluntarily provided this unbiased review.

Heartwarming

This was a good thought-provoking story. For the most part, the characters were well fleshed out. There are a couple of them that she should have blocked on her phone. She could have eased a lot of stress in her life if she had, but then the book would’ve been much shorter. Overall, I really enjoyed the book. And I am rethinking some of my previous opinions on homelessness.
