The ashes of the Winter Festival settled, but peace was a luxury I couldn't afford. The threats were escalating, and staying put meant stagnation. If I wanted to face what was coming, I had to get stronger, even if it meant leaving Waybound's walls behind.

My journey took me far East, into the mystical and perilous Shan Gui Highlands—a land steeped in spirits, Yokai, and watched over by powerful Mountain Gods. Alongside my loyal werewolf maid, my ascending phoenix ally, and an adventurous Goryeo princess, we navigated treacherous paths, battled ancient guardians, and sought legendary power. One destiny was reforged with divine flames, while I claimed a notorious Demon Blade, embracing the darkness necessary for survival.

But power attracts challenges. Our return to the Academy coincided with the legendary Summer Festival, held within the shifting, ghost city of Nevaramis. Disguised amongst adventurers and mercenaries, I entered its deadly trials, only to find the tournament was a facade. The Outer God Cult was already inside, their final ritual nearing completion.

Trapped in a labyrinth designed by forgotten powers, surrounded by ruthless competitors and hidden cultists preparing to unleash an ancient horror, the true test begins.

Wasn't a fan of the sacrifice of innocent people otherwise it was another compelling story.

how the main character finally was cornered

Just when you think things are looking up, this story puts a wrench into the whole process. Problems could have been avoided if Iskander just acted and spoke up and explained things but as someone who has been in high pressure situations it makes sense. The ending is very bittersweet but not off-putting, so I'll keep on this wild ride.

The stakes were raised, mistakes were made and the MC is in a tough spot.

Everything has been really good and I can’t wait for the next one the progression is perfect everything is great

Good stuff

I just wanna say this series has been on and off with this book I can say I won’t be picking up the next one because the Mc has two sets of memories from people that should have seen some things and learned hard lessons like maybe negotiating with cultist doesn’t work but that’s just one specific incongruity stuff like that keeps happening and ruins the immersion just seems like a weak way to pull the plot forward

Why is the MC still being shown as naive?

It’s so annoying, the whole debate about what you need to do to save the greater good…

It’s so damn obvious that Isakar is being “coerced” into his dumb decision. The author trying to make the reader feel that it’s okay…

It’s so fucking dumb. Either Iskandar is “all according to keikaku” and the other side is: whaaaaaat? Who could have guessed? Nothing in between.

It’s so damn contrived… I need to chill, got too invested for a second.

Dumb ass MC
