New York Times Bestseller Soon to be a MASTERPIECE mystery series on PBS!

Bestselling author Anthony Horowitz brings back his famous literary detective Atticus Pund and Susan Ryeland, hero of Magpie Murders, in an inventive, labyrinthine story that is “catnip for classic mystery lovers” (Time magazine).

Retired publisher Susan Ryeland is living the good life. She is running a small hotel on a Greek island with her long-term boyfriend Andreas. It should be everything she's always wanted. But is it? She's exhausted with the responsibilities of making everything work on an island where nothing ever does, and truth be told she's beginning to miss London.

And then the Trehearnes come to stay. The strange and mysterious story they tell, about an unfortunate murder that took place on the same day and in the same hotel in which their daughter was married—a picturesque inn on the Suffolk coast named Farlingaye Hall—fascinates Susan and piques her editor’s instincts.

One of her former writers, the late Alan Conway, author of the fictional Magpie Murders, knew the murder victim—an advertising executive named Frank Parris—and once visited Farlingaye Hall. Conway based the third book in his detective series, Atticus Pund Takes the Cake, on that very crime.

The Trehearne’s, daughter, Cecily, read Conway’s mystery and believed the book proves that the man convicted of Parris’s murder—a Romanian immigrant who was the hotel’s handyman—is innocent. When the Trehearnes reveal that Cecily is now missing, Susan knows that she must return to England and find out what really happened.

Brilliantly clever, relentlessly suspenseful, full of twists that will keep readers guessing with each revelation and clue, Moonflower Murders is a deviously dark take on vintage English crime fiction from one of its greatest masterminds.

This audio book is, in my opinion, a richer and more fulfilling experience than watching a film of the book might be. Because an unabridged audiobook is the original text amplified through the voices of the readers. In this particular case both the readers are truly gifted: they are able conjure a marvellous range of characters, accents and emotions. Really brilliant.

Excellent performance

I'd have to say Anthony Horowitz is a prolific writer. I was thrilled to preorder this and it was worth the wait. Great characters and great storyline.

Definitely worth your time and money!

Love that it's a book within a book. Loved the last one and can't wait for the next one!

I'm so happy that this book/series exists!

I loved this book!
I’m a big fan of Anthony Horowitz, but I had never “heard” one of his books, only read them. So I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this whole experience. The narrator had such a pleasant voice, and was creative and believable as she voiced the characters. (I sometimes find the narration takes away from a story, but I think this one enhanced it.)
I highly recommend this format of Moonflower Murders. It’s super long, but you’ll love it so much, that even after 17 hours, you’ll be sorry when it’s over. Enjoy!

Engrossing, Entertaining, Exceptional!

I really loved this book and I really love Anthony Horowitz. Magpie Murders was amazing, and the same mood permeated this book, but I felt like the repeat of the “Atticus Punt solving a crime solves a real life crime” frame was a little too forced. In Magpie Murders it felt new, refreshing, and almost revolutionary but here the Punt book was very limited in Susan’s solving of the case. The book was still fun and the mystery was thrilling with a great resolution, but I do wish the story within a story had been limited.
