From New York Times bestselling authors Andrews & Wilson, Minotaur is a high-concept take on an ancient story perfect for fans of A Quiet Place and Bird Box.

The Minotaur never died.

His “death” was a myth—a lie told to comfort the world. Asterion, the beast of legend, still walks among us. Immortal, cunning, and endlessly hungry, he hides in plain sight luring victims into the ancient labyrinth beneath Crete, feeding on those foolish enough to enter the maze.

But this spring break, the hunter becomes the hunted.

Mina, a modern descendant of the labyrinth’s architect, has always been haunted by dreams of the maze. When she inherits her grandmother’s mysterious medallion, she can no longer resist the pull to Crete. She convinces three friends to go with her … unaware they’re walking into Asterion’s trap.

Now, Mina must outwit the immortal beast in his own domain—before she and her friends become the next sacrifice to the Minotaur.

I was entertained by this short story. That said, I would rather see a continuation of the Equestrian storyline before this idea is expanded.

Interesting spin on Knossos Mythology.

This was a great short story especially if you're into Greek Mythology but it has a modern twist. Rose Reid does a great job narrating this thriller. She captures the emotions during the tense scenes through great use of dramatic pauses and adjusting pace to add to the thrill. Well done!

Thrilling Short Story - Great Narrator

Well, this was a different kind of story.....

I am already a huge fan of this writing duo and they told us recently that they were going to be dabbling in more short stories. Some to test the waters on whether readers might have enough interest in getting the longer version out. There have already been a couple that I really liked and would love to see more of. For some reason though, I think that this story is just a short story.

In terms of short - it is very short. We are introduced to a college aged foursome who are visiting Greece for spring break. The story is told from the POV of Philomena (Mina) who was the driving force in picking the island of Crete. Things in the story move very quickly and before you know it, the group is at a nightclub being invited into the VIP area to dance and drink with a man named Asterion. And that is all they remember before waking up separated from each other in an underground labyrinth without their shoes.

No more summary after that because it really is fun to experience everything as it happens. I will say this....that ending gave me chills. Serious chills. As I said before, I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but for a short story with less than 50 pages (I listened to it on audio) it definitely packed a punch.

Short and chilling.....
