I can not believe how incredibly well this book and these actors worked together. Great art meets great performance. There is so much to love here.

Story: I feel like the authors found the line of what's plausible, walked as close to it as possible, but didn't cross into the unbelievable. The MC is a good man, almost unrealistically the best man ever, but like well written stories of Superman or other virtuous powerful heroes, you can buy in. The first love connection seems to happen almost too fast, but again, even if it seems like exaggerated infatuation, you can see the path to a lasting relationship. There's not a lot of sex here and not a lot of action, but because the characters and story are interesting, those moments are more fun and compelling and vibrant. After reading HHFHM, I thought there would be more spice, but I now see that the author usually uses sex as part of the narrative and in one book it calls for more and in this, it calls for less. The world is incredible and calls to mind online worlds of fantasy, but whatever game you thing of when it starts, fades as the world crested here comes into focus. PLEASE DON'T GET RID OF THE POWER ACTIVATION SUMMARIES. I went from thinking, "this is neat" to thinking "this is repetitive" to finding myself gleefully reciting the descriptions along with the voice actor every time they were triggered. I never tired, never bored, and sometimes listened for longer than my time allowed. I'm excited to see where this all goes. Felt like the book was written for my specific tastes, but I'm glad to know I'm not alone and that this will continue. I will be following where these authors go and catching up on what they've written before I discovered them.

Performance: The voice acting is World Class. I'm new here, so maybe they are very famous vocal artists, but these two could single-handedly voice their own animated series. Highest praise for their elite level work. What else can you say about those who are Masters of their craft.

This was so incredibly well written. It was funny, it was heart warmingly sweet. The spicy parts were artfully done and not forced. The characters couldn't be more lovable! Can't wait for next month when I can get book 2!!!

Story has a great backdrop with a great warrior from an impossible war trying to make it in what is left of the world. Really enjoyed that the MC works to make smart decisions and not just blast everything even though he is impossibly strong. Great bread crumbs at the end to really open this up to a great series. One of my favorite books and a magical performance that brought it to life!!!
