Is it suicide — or something far more sinister?
River Bend has always had its share of tragedy. But lately something feels different. Too many accidents. Too many so-called suicides. Too many grieving families left with questions that will not quiet down no matter how hard they try to move on.
Psychic investigator Gabby McAllister is used to dealing with the dead. But when a grieving family hires her to look into their daughter's death — ruled a suicide, case closed, nothing to see — her visions show her something that makes her blood run cold.
This was not self-inflicted. This was murder.
As more deaths surface and the pattern becomes impossible to ignore, Gabby begins to suspect something that should be unthinkable in a town as small as River Bend — a serial killer, hiding in plain sight, engineering tragedies designed to look like personal despair.
But solving this case will not be easy. Not when Gabby is already reeling from a painful breakup with Detective Lucas Hartley — the one person she has always been able to count on, the one person who understood what she carries, the one person she never wanted to lose.
With trust fraying and the line between ally and enemy beginning to blur, Gabby races to unmask a killer who is not just covering his tracks — he is already planning his next move.
And if she does not catch him soon, she could be the next one marked for death.
Book 7 of 9 in the bestselling Messages of Murder series. The darkest and most emotionally devastating entry in the series — and the one that sets up everything Book 8 delivers.

Entertaining story, but virtual narration is bland and different character voices are poorly distinguishable taking away from story enjoyment.

Not a fan of virtual narration.

The story is good, but I MUCH prefer live narratives! The first three books were a much better listen.

l Loved the story.

I disliked the robotic voice, it doesn't reflect the tone and emotion correctly at all times.

I like the series

The virtual voice is “bad”.! Glad this was free. The storyline and characters are very good. I would probably enjoy reading this series more than listening to blah, blah, blah.
