I believe this book improves greatly on the story and especially the character development over the first two books, CJ Cherryh’s dialogue is always excellent, and none rival her in political intrigue.
Although this follows the perspective of one character, I find myself greatly curious about other characters and experience them to be as deep and as complex as the main character.
An additional bonus is that I do believe the narrator has really settled into the characters at this stage in the series narration has improved.
This book I believe is an excellent pay off to the first has really pulled me into the series
