In this sizzling sequel to One Killer Night, a special effects artist and a hotshot chef put their shared past to the test to survive a stalker—and their feelings for each other.

It’s been two years since Evie and Chase clawed their way out of the real-life horror movie that would define most people. They’ve finally moved on.

Or so they thought.

Evie’s doing special effects for a new slasher film. Chase is preparing to open his own restaurant. But it’s not work that’s getting to them—it’s each other. While Chase still has his heart-eyed sights set on Evie, she’s got hers on the nearest exit. And she’s dreaming up the best comeback to whatever annoying thing he says next.

So what if he saved her life? She’s already kissed him more than enough times. They’re even now, right?

But when fate (or some nefarious plot) forces them into the same living quarters, things between Evie and Chase go from lukewarm to red hot. Trouble is, their romantic rendezvous aren’t as private as they think.

Someone’s watching. And if they don’t figure out who, their next brush with death could be their last.

"Plus, everyone knows the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach—I figure it might work on her since she wears the pants in this hopeful relationship."

Evil is Forever picks up two years after One Killer Night, and Trilina Pucci delivers a sizzling, tension-filled sequel that had me hooked from the very first page. Evie—still the GOAT in my book—is now working as a special effects artist on a slasher film, while Chase is focused on opening his own restaurant. Their chemistry? Completely off the charts. Their banter? Sharp, witty, and impossible not to love. And the suspense weaves through it all in a way that keeps you fully invested.

The audiobook takes it to another level. Audrey Obeyn and Robert Hatchet made this story completely unforgettable—the banter, the chemistry, the tension all come through so vividly. Evie and Chase’s dynamic is already incredible on the page, but hearing it performed adds so much more depth and intensity.

I especially loved how the story blends food and romance—it adds such a rich, mouthwatering layer to the experience. “Yes, Chef” has never hit harder. The back-and-forth between these two, the humor woven into the danger, and the perfect balance of heat and heart made this an absolute standout for me.

Sexy, Sharp, and Suspenseful—A Perfect Sequel

Just when Evie thought she was starting to heal from her past trauma and allows herself to enjoy life once more, her worst nightmare becomes a reality. And as she tries to figure out how to overcome this new trauma Evie takes us along a new gripping adventure keeping us at the edge of our seat. Trilina has done it once more, her brilliant mind has captivated our attention with this amazing thriller, and let’s not forget the amazing narrators whose talent brought her story to life. If you enjoy a great suspense romance that will keep you gripping for just one more chapter trying to figure out who the villain is then this story if for you. But of course in order to get the full experience you must read the first book since this is a sequel to One Killer Night

I enjoyed Chase and Evie. The plot was okay, sometimes the sequel just can’t beat the original. I loved the plot in book one, this one was kind of the same until the twist at the end. I loved the characters and their chemistry, the plot just lacked a bit for me in this one. The twist of who the “bad guy” was completely gave me Billy and Stu vibes, which I loved. But their whole monologue and their plan ended up being not well thought out to me. So there were definitely parts I loved and some that were meh. Still enjoyed it over all.
