This is one of my favorite series, and even though the first chapter is rather jarring, it sets up the rest of the story and context comes in the next couple chapters, as well as a return to Tala being the main voice. As always, J.L. Mullins does a wonderful job, and I can’t wait for more of Tala’s story!

I really appreciate how the author has continued the character development of mc. In the last book, I was afraid that going to run into a bunch of filler material this round however this did not happen. Every interaction is meaningful

love the steady power progression and even the "coincidences" aren't really hand waving plot armor. somebody paid for that! i love this series more and more. cant wait to continue my arcane education in the next books

The story has some great character development, and real plot progression that has been absent most of the series. It's mostly felt more like a slice of life fantasy up until now, which I have enjoyed but gets tedious if there is no serious development or just progresses to slowly.

The quality of this release was excellent, and I actually look forward to the next book.

I almost gave up on the first chapters. mind control and uneccicary nerfs after a large jump in power always drive me nuts. I was also glad she made it back by the end of the book. much stronger but changed for sure
