In a galaxy dominated by the AI-driven warships and robotic armies of the wealthy planet Carthage, freedom is a distant dream for the conquered colonies.

As rebellion brews across the empire, from the golden streets of Carthage to the post-apocalyptic ruins of Earth, the machines set their sights on the ocean world Galapagos. But they face unexpected resistance from a fiercely independent population led by a battle-hardened submarine commander who refuses to surrender his world's freedom for the illusion of peace.

With the insurrection against the imperial machines underway, the future of humanity hangs in the balance. The machines, programmed for victory at any cost, will stop at nothing to crush the rebellion and ensure their dominion over the galaxy.

In this masterful tale, author Max Carver weaves a terrifying vision of a machine-controlled future, where humanity's very existence is at stake. Combining the cerebral dystopia of Bladerunner with the heart-pounding action of Terminator, this cautionary tale will keep readers on the edge of their seats.

Can the rebels overcome the overwhelming might of the machines, or will human freedom become nothing more than a fading memory in a galaxy ruled by artificial intelligence?

Some of the dialog was childish but mostly I didn't give a shit about any of the main characters. Great story, very cool world just not if you want to root for the main character.

Really solid, I like the multi perspective stories like WWZ and this is a damn good example. It kinda leans into the cyberpunk aspect at parts pretty hard if that’s your thing. I’m personally not a fan of moody teens in all capacities and in the Carthage perspective there’s a noticeable amount of “angst”. Tho only real thing I could say needs improvement is character description as I’m not sure what Ellison and any of his associates would look like, and some of the action scenes lack something invigorating, like your scared for their life.

Uber space empire breeds futuristic nepotism, who knew

this story is interesting. it could have been really good, but the narrator killed this story for me. I could not he just it was really bad. I had to put at 1.5 speed to have him sound normal and from there the dialogue just got really bad like like people don't talk that way even if they are robots. I do not recommend. I did not finish.

One of the worst narrators I've ever heard.
