Jonathan Heights saw sunlight once. He must see it again.

At least, that’s what he claims when he charters an expedition east beyond the bounds of civilization. The book is amazing. I was very sceptical as usually a one book series, I.e. not a series at all, is usually too flat and uninteresting to me.

this however is such a deep world and so unbelievably much happening, with such fresh ideas that I listened to it twice in a row and enjoyed the repeat just as much.

I wished this was a series... there is so much to explore and seek out. so many places and secrets...

An interesting story that is different from IC's other works.

I quite liked the world building, and the flavor of it.

However, I admit that I found it difficult to become truly invested in the characters and plot of this one. The main character keeps his distance from others, and the reader.

Basically imagine a trust fund prick with a lot of wealth and no responsibiliy or remorse for having killed all his friends. Thats the MC. It doesn’t get better than that. The MC is consumed chasing the next high at whatever cost. Human or otherwise.
