It takes more than Cupid to arrange a marriage in this sparkling Regency romcom from New York Times bestselling author Suzanne Enoch, where The Parent Trap crashes into Bridgerton as two precocious children decide to play matchmaker for their unsuspecting single parents.

Beckett Raines, the Marquis of Hentrose, needs a wife, and he's resigned to participating in the Season to search for a suitable mother for his young daughter Rebecca. Beckett is determined to wed for practicality rather than love, and he thinks he's found the perfect, proper woman for the job.

Instead, he's stunned when his new next-door neighbor Iris Silbern bursts into his London home in pursuit of her mischievous son Edmund. Her ferocity, sharp wit, and humor charm him, but she is by no means proper. Meanwhile, Iris's relations are trying to set up a match with a wealthy, elderly duke—an answer to her financial troubles, if not her resistant heart.

Rebecca and Edmund have no interest in practical plans, not when the perfect father and mother are right in front of them. With only one Season to summon Cupid, they scheme to bring their parents together. But will Beckett realize how perfect a messy life can be? And will Iris open her heart to a man who may not be a duke, but something even better?

I enjoyed the entire cast of characters in this romantic family blending story with satisfying resolutions to various characters. I especially liked the inclusion of the trusted staff in the plot.

Beckett and Iris are both widowed, and parents. Becket has an adorable nine-year-old daughter. Iris has a precocious nine-year-old son. Rebecca and Edmund meet and become playmates when Iris moved in with her aunt and uncle. After a tiff or two, Beckett and Iris become friends as well. Pressured by family they both soon have a serious suitor. Their meddling little darlings have other ideas, and recruit help to accomplish their plan for their parents. This story is a well-written, entertaining, and enjoyable romance filled with fun, mischief, loveable characters, and a wonderful conclusion. Excellent narration by Kimberly M. Wetherell and Jay Myers.

What a story, kept me reeled in all day! Tho I must say the villains made my skin crawl & this story sooo needed an Epilogue....6 months later the happy Biscuits & fate of the others!***Well, dash it all just had to do it! I had a really fun time tieing up all the lose ends writing my own Epilogue, very satisfying after being so evolved with a great story.
Abreviated version of my Epilogue!
Mother banished to Northern most Manor house, Pauline fainting at her day of fate (don't want to spoil the plot) The rest loving, living happily & having grand adventures...etc

Great Twisty Plot

Excellent story and narration. I very much enjoyed this book. I have also listened to some of this author's previous books and enjoyed them as well. I've liked her characters and her plots, and hope that in the future, she writes more books like this one. I will certainly buy such additional books if they become available.
