Born in Cap-Haitien in 1972, Marie grew up in a modest home with her three loving siblings. Her lovely late mother, Sylianie Tertulien, raised her to be an independent and strong-minded woman. Marie relocated to the US in April of 2000. First, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Studies with a concentration in Legal Studies. Then, in December of 2010, she graduated with a Master's from Barry University School of Social Work. Last but not least, she earned a Doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University. Marie Ghislaine Desir is a difference-maker, a social justice advocate, and a Social Worker with over ten years of experience. She is a Black woman from the First Black Independent Country.
