While I'm not clear on where one gets an official copy of the girl code, it seems like "thou shalt not covet thy bestie's hot dad" would be pretty high on that list.

Even if my hormone-ridden peanut brain would love to read into every interaction we've ever had and imagine he's been pining away for me, too, my judgment is clearly not to be trusted here. It's time to move on.

Unfortunately, coveting is a hard condition to kick when you find yourself spending Christmas alone with him at his fancy house. It's even harder when you throw in the storm of the century, a mountain of snow where the driveway should be, and learning your best friend's father isn't quite as disinterested as you thought he was.

Now, the one thing I know for sure is this is a Christmas I'll never forget.

This audiobook was everything I love in a novella! An age-gap, workplace, forbidden romance with her best friend's dad, plus snowed in together over Christmas...um, YES, PLEASE! This novella has all the spice you expect from Cleo White with characters that are fun and easy to connect to. The humor had me laughing out loud!

It's easy to see that the next two books in the series will feature Bram's daughters and the set up for the second book (a Valentine's Day novella) is introduced at the end of Chilled and Thrilled. I've already read it in ebook format and have added it to my audiobook TBR!

At 5.5 hrs I knew the romance would be lightning quick. But, I was still taken off guard by how quick things went from “our 44/22 age difference makes this impossible” to jumping into multiple kinks without hesitation. Kinks in addition to age gap include breeding, disciplinary, and temperature.

I’m not sure if it’s the writing, or just that these aren’t my kinks, however I never quite bought into him being attractive to a twenty something young lady. Thus, the dirty talking and the sexy times were good, but not scorching.

It’s also a stretch that the series coincidentally has dad Bram and both of his adult daughters all into age gap pairings. I mean, what are the odds? It does provide the hook to connect the series. This book starts things off with Bram and the next two books feature each of his daughters finding an older, billionaire daddy.

This was my 1st story by this author, and overall I enjoyed this best friend's dad, employee/boss, forced proximity romance. The story never lagged, but at the same time felt like it was missing something 🤔. The narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life, and I found myself locked into largely based on their performances.

The spice was excellent, but would have love more of the kink exploration aspect given how they get together.
