Frontlines: Evolution

It’s been eight years since an alien invasion drove a small surviving group of settlers to seek refuge in an underground shelter. Cut off from the rest of humanity, the ragtag band has maintained a narrowly functioning colony due to communal effort and salvage runs. Alex Archer has her own duties as a dog handler. While this off-world colony may be harsh, Ash, Alex’s black shepherd raised to sense threats, makes living in it a little nicer.

Alex Archer is a soldier now, the only civilian survivor from Scorpio to join the NAC Defense Corps. With their training complete, Alex and her friend Private Isa Cressey find themselves on emergency combat deployment with their new unit. The destination is the Alpha Corvi system, where an allied warship has vanished. Alex can guess why.

When a fellow team’s distress call breaks through from deep in Lanky territory, Alex knows this could be her deadliest mission yet. The aliens are evolving, developing an uncanny ability to anticipate human tactics, and their latest adaptations are nothing like what Special Ops trained for. When a distress signal from deep in enemy territory reaches Alex’s team, they face a decision: continue with their own mission or break the rules and mount a rescue attempt across dangerous ground, on a world where the environment is as deadly as the alien enemy.
