In his publication, Dr. Tenorio explores the vibrant cultural production of queer and trans communities in Mexico and the United States. As he puts it, “Mobilizing nightlife practices across regions, jotería shapes a way of being in the world for diasporic queers and trans folk across Mexico and the US.” Spanning six chapters, the book examines how relajo operates as a powerful mode of navigating affect, race, sexuality, and citizenship through the lens of nightlife.
