Jorie Houlihan, known as “Your Guide for the Dopamine Deprived™,” is an ADHD life coach, public speaker, educator, and host of the podcast ADHD &... with Jorie Houlihan. After living with undiagnosed ADHD until the age of 49, Jorie brings a deeply personal and compassionate perspective to her work, especially in supporting women who discover their ADHD later in life. Through her coaching and speaking, she helps women better understand how their brains work, recognize their strengths, and build systems that support their success.

In this episode, Jorie shares insights into the unique challenges and hidden strengths that come with ADHD, the power of self-acceptance, and why having the right support system can make all the difference. Susan Stancliff grew up in the small town of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, just outside of Tulsa, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University. She spent twelve years working in Supervision and Regulation for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas before shifting her focus to family life after marrying her husband, Jason, in 2000. In 2003, Susan and Jason traveled to China to adopt their daughter, Meghan, and Susan became a stay-at-home mother while staying active through volunteer work.

After relocating to the Chicago suburbs in 2008, Susan’s life in recent years has been marked by profound transitions. In 2021, her husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, just as their daughter graduated from high school and prepared to leave for college. In the years that followed, Susan also experienced the loss of her mother in 2022 and her husband in 2023. Today, she continues to navigate life while helping manage the care and finances of her 94-year-old father, who lives independently in Florida. Susan joins us to share her story of resilience, grief, caregiving from a distance, and the emotional realities of navigating major life changes all at once.
