    Six months into a US-brokered ceasefire, severe shortages of flour, fuel and cash are driving a deepening bread crisis across Gaza. The Gaza Bakery Owners Association says production now meets only 50 percent of the population's needs, forcing families to queue for hours at bakeries and markets. Restrictions at crossings, a 30 percent cut in bread production, and reduced subsidies from the World Food Programme have created a major supply gap, whilst Israel's limits on replacing old currency have left residents unable to pay for bread even when they reach the front of the queue.     Trump vows military to stay until real deal; analyst says Iran holds cards

    In a Truth Social post, President Trump warned that US military forces will remain in and around Iran until "the real agreement is reached and fully complied with," threatening that if it is not, "the shoot-in starts bigger and better and stronger than anyone has ever seen before." Professor Amin Saikal, professor emeritus of Middle East and Central Asian Islamic Studies at the Australian National University and author of 'Iran Rising' , told Al Jazeera that Trump's threatening language "cannot really work and cannot really wash with the Iranian side," noting that both sides are in the early stages of the ceasefire and are "posturing as much as they can." Saikal suggested that Iran has the upper hand, arguing that the US and Israel's objective to "destroy the Islamic regime and bring about regime change has not really taken place," with the regime having "survived and likely to emerge much stronger than it was even before the start of the war." On the Strait of Hormuz, Saikal noted that the IRGC has released a map showing a new route, warning of naval mines and demanding ships coordinate with Iranian forces — a demand he says "is not going to go down really well with President Trump." Saikal concluded that the Strait will remain a point of contention, with Iran claiming territorial waters while some analysts argue it should be an international waterway under international law.
