I absolutely love the easy-to-follow practices in this book! I began this book after the 2016 election and it has enabled me to gain a better perspective about my place in the world. I have used it to fine tune my daily spiritual self-care and highly recommend it to all my friends.

I attended a program with Richard Miller and Lilias Folan in Cincinnati years ago and bot his CD.
I used it for years and wore it out. This audible booke has many meditations and information for
those who may already practice or are new. A lot of people think they can't meditate because they can't stop
thinking, Richard says body sensing is the solution. You can't sense your body and think at the same time.
His meditation also focus on helping those who may have PTSD. Highly recommend

Content is great. The chapters should be renamed to more than just numbers and rearranged so you can easily find when the lectures and guided practices start

This is a nice, clean meditation guide for those prone to PTSD without much baggage or spiritual orientation. On the other hand, being bereft of a soulful foundation, it can be a bit dry. I did not mind the trade off.

Simple and effective stress reduction

I have a feeling beginners 'might' feel overwhelmed by this. If this is your first foray into mindfulness meditation, then I'd go very slowly. This isn't really the type of book you read in a day anyway. Plenty of good stuff in here. A mixture of both meditation and psychology. I noticed aspects of CBT and even DBT in some of the meditations. There's also some more traditional style meditations. Nothing weird in here that would scare off the average westerner. If you're looking for something to help you overcome anxiety or depression, there are better options. I'd suggest this for people with stress or even trouble sleeping at night. The final meditation in this is a great one for right before bed or even in it. It will take most people a while to master this program completely. Don't let that scare you away. That said, I still think this is an ideal SECOND book on meditation with another option being your introduction.

Pretty good. But not for beginners
