Beset on all sides, Jiyi Chistu, Khan of Clan Jade Falcon, is struggling to keep his place in the crumbling Jade Falcon Occupation Zone. A great book following a bunch of characters who over the last few audiobooks have become fairly central to the overall advancing timeline of the series really enjoyed it

Gripping story great voice acting

Story: Really good sequel to the previous book, I probably actually like this one more. The character progressions are excellent, and I was on the edge of my seat at one point wanting to know what happens next. One complaint about the story, there are 2 locations/stories going on in the 2nd half of the book. And I felt the story switched between the 2 views too frequently. Anytime it was getting good, SWITCH. I get the point about hooking people to keep them interested, but it was too often IMO.

Readers: Still dont like them, specifically the guy. But it was better in this book. Not sure if I just got more used to it doing these 2 books back to back, or if they improved their performance on the 2nd book. Either way, their performance hurts the book.

What I love most about this new era of BattleTech is how evolved the clans have become. It’s more mature and nuanced. My only complaints about this come in the performance. Mispronunciations of names like Henrique or making Katie Ferraro sound like that…. Those were definitely choices…

great story and narration, picks up where AQoS leaves off (plus a number of months). I like the direction Jiti Chistu is taking the Jade Falcons, its great to see them finally learn something after a hundred years and cut the blood fowl tumor that is the Mongol Doctrine from the clan. Lots of character growth for Alexis, Chistu
