I have other books by this author and I loved hearing those books. However, this is my first Virtual reader from her books. I struggle to listen because the monotonous reader distracts from the story. The reader also keeps me from identifying which character is actually talking. I would be willing to pay more for the audiobook in order to get a good reader like the author used on her other books.

I may have rated the story higher if the reader was better.

I really like this series but if it had a real narrator it would be 100000 percent better. I think I'm gonna look for them in actual books and read that because this narrator kept pronouncing the names different and it kind of threw me off but I like the book series. It's a good book series. Just not a good narrator.

It has a great story line, but

This is more suited to pre teen audiences as the character development is shallow, the plot weak and the magic extremely limited. I did not listen past the beginning of the second book. Just no.

Just not interesting

There were minimal distinctions between voices, all very drab. Too distracting to follow the storyline.
