Alas, too late, it is discovered that Georgiana has eloped with George Wickham, having fooled everyone. By the time she returns, she is married to the blackguard and a scandal is poised to erupt.

CAN LOVE SURVIVE in the midst of a family crisis? Mr Bennet delays the wedding as the newly married Wickhams come into Hertfordshire and make everyone around them miserable. Darcy offers to release Elizabeth from their engagement but Elizabeth has a different idea. Will she be able to save them all from ruin?

No humor, charm, originality. It is very wordy as if the author had guaranteed to produce a certain number of words and did so through excessive repetition and unnecessary language.

Tedious

I like that Elizabeth and Darcy got together early in the story. I dislike Mr. Bennett being so stubborn. I despised George Wickham and his smirking. I wanted to slap Georgiana for her stupidity.

Good story

I really enjoyed this book and I feel almost like listening to it again right away.

This author has some great writing out there and this one deserves to reside in the top five of her books. It is a beautiful story but a very frustrating situation for everyone involved. I was thinking there was no way to solve this horrible situation but the author pulled it off so well in the end. And believably.

We have an early understanding with Darcy and Elizabeth here, one of the threads pulled I mentioned above. Romantic and very frustrating from multiple sources.

In this story Mr Wickham and Georgiana successfully elope and show up at Netherfield where Darcy is staying with Bingley. “We are married!” Georgiana is completely under the influence and delusion Mr Wickham has over her. Their relationship seems weirder and weirder as time passes. Meanwhile Darcy is struggling with his outrage over his sister marrying the Snake. The he struggles with his own jealousy as Wickham continues to be his Snakey self. His target is chiefly Elizabeth which he knows will drive Darcy crazy. And it does. He comes close to ending his relationship with Elizabeth. Scandal is threatening to explode over the marriage of W and G. Mr Bennet is being stubborn. Mrs Bennet is being shrill and nervous.

Mr Bingley is a gem here. Kudos for his character.

But it does end very happily and I will not hesitate to recommend this very highly. It wracked my nerves, but I loved it.

This is probably my favorite P&P variation of the hundreds I have listened to. It’s greatly enhanced by the outstanding narration skill of Emily Wylie! I’m putting this author and this narrator at the top of my list.

Incredible narration!!

Darcy has all the resources on the planet and is so incredibly weak doing this entire book. It’s frustrating and so incredibly sad. Did Not finish.

Weak Darcy
