This was a great story with lots of powerful messages about self love, worth, value, hurt and pain leading you to a dark path.
I did not care for the book writing storytelling would have liked more of the love story versus Cassie speaking on what she was writing.

I really enjoy Kenya Wrights other books. This one was not up to her usual talent. It was a combination of the lackluster voice talent and a story that kept drifting. I found the female narrator especially annoying. She came across as over doing it. Another reviewer hit it over the head when she said that she narrated like spoken word poetry. It made it impossible to get into the story. I think it would have been better if I had read the ebook. I also found the story within the story a bit much because I didn’t think it was good. I just found myself constantly annoyed. There were some funny parts, but like I said, not one of Kenya’s better efforts.

This book covered some thought-provoking topics from start to finish. couldn’t stop listening to it until I had to. It ran through the spectrum of human emotions; bitterness, hate, distrust, lies, love and romance with a sprinkling of humor. Narrators did a good job bringing out these emotions in characters. This book was deep!
