I've been hoping Katie would improve as she continued to read these books but WOW was this one a poor showing. It's like she picked up the book and read it aloud for the first time with us, like this was the first recording and she said "good enough" and sent it in. She's constantly stumbling and halting, and the inflection of her sentences sound very off and wrong. It doesn't help that she hardly puts effort into differentiating the voices of each character. Most of them sound exactly the same, with one or two more distinct than the rest.

As for the story itself, it was much shorter than usual, but I'd rather that than even more pointless filler. Not a lot happened in this book, it was pretty slow, but that's not in an entirely bad way. It felt like this book was the buildup before more things would happen in the next, that instead of standing out on its own, it's here to prop up the following books in the series. Judge that how you will.

I can't believe the poop thorn killed Brambleclaw. Also can't believe that Lionblaze and Sparkpelt got nothing at his funeral. There's way too many cats and they just don't stop making more, dear god, stop making more characters, cull the incest cats before things get worse, writing team-

I HATE Katie. She is the worst narrator EVER!! Every cat sounds the same and it sounds like she is growing father and closer to the camera at different times in the middle of a flipping SENTENCE!! As well as fluctuating from being fast and slow. Other than that I couldn't stop listening. I was hooked on Moonpaws POV. Erin people if you're reading this please fire Katie and bring Mr. Andrew back. He is a much better narrator. Also please make other sequels!!!! Also make the books longer. I can't believe I waited almost half a YEAR for a bearly SIX HOUR BOOK!! That's outrageous. Please and thank you.
