THERE ARE OLD PILOTS AND BOLD PILOTS—AND DEAD AND COLD PILOTS.

Luke Angel is on a routine cargo flight in the Bahamas, anticipating an icy beer waiting for him on the far side, but when a distress call diverts him into a watery landing in the turquoise Caribbean waters, he ends up with a dead pilot and a mysterious unconscious woman on his hands.

The island town of Hooper’s Haven is a refuge for the wealthy and glamorous.

And their secrets.

When his passenger disappears from the local hospital, Luke has more questions than answers about who she really is. Torn between his desire to bug out ahead of deteriorating weather, and his duty to see his passenger safely home, he finds himself walking a knife edge of danger.

Someone has buried their secrets deep in Hooper’s Haven and the more Luke digs, the more likely he is to be the one to end up in the ground. A killer has struck twice and has the whole island running scared. But Luke Angel never runs when he can fly. And now he’s throttling up for a dogfight.

Strap in for another gripping aviation mystery, with characters you’ll root for, high-flying action, and a wings-on-fire plunge to the finale you won’t want to stop listening to.

Great story, fast paced and performed to perfection. Book one was great and this one was even better. I already have book 3 in my library and can't wait to get to it. Hopefully Nate Van Coops keeps these stories coming.

Book one was good and this one was even better

The Luke Angel series has quickly become one of my favorites. it has good main characters that are likable and engaging, the author does a great job making you feel like you were right there in the setting of the book, plus he keeps the action going, not leaving any dull spots so you don’t lose interest. Scott Brick does an almost perfect job narrating. from start to finish, it took only over a day in order to finish this entry in the storyline, and I’m looking forward to starting the next. Period

Great news series

This is a brand new tale that has aviation expert, pilot and MMC Luke Angel and his flying "Mallard" setting off for the Bahamas on a routine flight with his young co-pilot in training. A very strange circumstance has the two pilots finding themselves in the right area when they hear a distress call from another airplane in trouble.

It just so happens that the Mallard is a sea plane and in a very unusual circumstance, they are able to get to the downed plane before it sinks into the ocean.

That sets off a crazy and harrowing set of adventures on the small island of Hooper’s Haven. Luke's curiosity is peaked for several reasons, one of them when he realizes that something is not right with HOW the plane went down. He begins to wonder if it really was an accident.

Add to that a very dodgy rescue victim, and before you know it, Luke is right in the middle of something that he is trying desperately to understand. It does not take long to realize that whoever is involved in these sketchy circumstances is playing for keeps.

I listened to this on audio and as usual, Scott Brick did a wonderful job with his performance.

This series contains fairly short but jammed packed adventures that will get your heart beating as Luke does his best to stay a step ahead of the bad guys. The problem is....exactly WHO are the bad guys???

And the fun continues.....
