Our society worships at the fountain of youth, but are we missing out on an extraordinary stage in life?

Daniel Klein ponders whether it is better to be forever young or to grin toothlessly and live an authentic old age. He journeys to the Greek island of Hydra to discover the secrets of ageing happily.

Drawing on the lives of Greek locals as well as philosophers, he uncovers the pleasures that are available only late in life.

Most of the reviews I come across for this little gem are aimed towards recommending this book to people of older age. And truth be told: even the author himself addresses this demographic more often than not. But as an Epicurean of around 30 years old, I found this book highly interesting as well. It provides a small insight into Epicurus' way of thinking, as well as some other philosophers, applied to daily life. Nothing new or mind-boggling but a quick and friendly reminder that we must live our life.

Don't skip this if you're still young.
