There Is No Wall is ultrarunner Allie Bailey's brutally honest and sometimes shocking account of alcoholism, depression and severe mental breakdowns which almost cost her her life.

Told with disarming vulnerability, heartbreaking depth of feeling and dark humour, this isn't a story about how running saved her–she was already running and at the height of her struggles sometimes even winning 100-mile-plus races. But somewhere between the darkest excesses of the music industry and the simple beauty of the ultrarunning scene, Allie found space to listen, learn and put into practice techniques that would go on to save her life and change it for the better.

There Is No Wall is a story about how doing something you love can lead you to achieve things you never thought possible. Running won't save you, but it might buy you the time to save yourself.

Raw and excellent. A must read for anyone using running to put a bandaid on problems that need to be tackled head on. Allie’s honesty on social media about her struggles with alcohol directly influenced me looking more closely how i am handling my own life. Thank you Allie.

Allie Bailey writes with brutal honesty and courage. She has overcome so much in her short life and came out on the other side an incredible endurance athlete. Written with humor, I throughly enjoyed her fast paced delivery and wit. If you’re looking for an inspiring ultra running book, this one is for you! Bravo Allie. I look forward to following your career

As an ultra athlete and non-addict but sober human this is a brave look into the life of resilience. Thank you for sharing. Recommend read for anyone who loves humanity.

This is an emotionally harrowing journey through alcoholism, ultrarunning and depression that really pulls you along. No sugar coating or platitudes, just real sadness, pain, overcoming, and growth. I liked hearing the author read this in her own voice. Can't wait for Rich Roll to interview Allie someday! If you like this book you should also check out Allie's interviews on the Ten Junk Miles podcast.

Brutally honest and engaging

This was a great listen, because it was real. It was honest. And it truly made me think about how I react to my daily circumstances and traumas. It may just be a starting point, but this is stuff we have to work on every day, every hour, every minute. If a reader doesn't walk away thinking that, then they didn't listen to the book. I didn't get the feel that Allie is an amazing ultrarunner so she had to write a book about it. There are many books out there like that if you need that fix. She is a real person dealing with all sorts of things when those running shoes aren't on, that's real life.
