Warm beds, quaint mysteries, and the best rosemary bread this side of Pigsend Creek. Welcome to the Weary Dragon Inn. Bev may not know who she was before she showed up in the quaint village of Pigsend five years ago, but that doesn’t bother her much. She’s made a tidy little life for herself as the proprietor of the Weary Dragon Inn, where the most notable event is when she makes her famous rosemary bread.

But when earthquakes and sinkholes start appearing all over town, including near Bev’s front door, she’s got to put on her sleuthing hat to figure out what—or who—might be causing them before the entire town disappears.

Just when you think you have it figured out, it turns out to be something else! Definitely keeps you on your toes in trying to figure out who the culprit is. Then there’s the ever slow going discovery of Bev’s past. Just glimpses but enough to know it was something major.

Lots of surprises

I’m not sure if it’s the story or the narrator, but this is a boring book where it is hard to get excited about the plot and the characters. I do believe the real problem is the narrator. Her pronunciation is problematic and hard to follow. It makes me appreciate all the other books. I’ve listened to because of those narrators. I just give up and won’t even finish this book.

The narrator is hard to follow.

Beautiful written and well read. Low stakes but keeps you committed until the end. The world created is comforting and a little magical. Can’t wait for more!

Comfort and entertainment

This is a cute trilogy, that is cozy and high fantasy enough to keep your interest. It is definitely low stakes and more of a chill read than most books. I appreciate it for what it is which is cute and cozy!
